PHOTOPROBE® Amine is a nucleic acid labeling reagent that can be used to incorporate primary amines into nucleic acids. These amino groups can subsequently be used to attach haptens, fluorochromes, or various markers to the nucleic acid or to immobilize nucleic acids to beads, chips, or other matrices. PHOTOPROBE® Amine is a photo-activatable bifunctional reagent with a primary amine on one end and an aryl azide moiety on the other separated by a positively charged spacer arm. The reagent employs coupling chemistry using heat or light activation similar to that of PHOTOPROBE® Biotin. The amount of reagent supplied is sufficient to label up to 360 µg of DNA, RNA, or oligonucleotide.
